Maras
Pre-Inca town with discontinuous post occupation, its important occupation began when the Cusco Inca nobles were stripped of their palaces in Cusco and had to go out to settle in other small towns such as San Sebastian and Maras. From the place you can see part of the Urubamba mountain range, the snowy peaks and beautiful landscapes. Maras is one of the ancient picturesque towns of Cusco, the white houses and their roofs of tiles make the town a harmonious and colorful place for visitors.
Moray
Considered an Inca agricultural research center where crop experiments were carried out at different heights,
The layout of its platforms produces a gradient of microclimates, with the center of concentric circular platforms having a higher temperature and gradually decreasing towards the outside at lower temperatures, thus being able to simulate up to 20 different types of microclimates. It is believed that Moray could have served as a model for the calculation of agricultural production not only from the Urubamba Valley but also from different parts of the Tahuantinsuyo
Salineras
The famous salt mines of Maras known by some as "salt mines" are constituted by some 3000 small wells, built on one side of the slope of the mountain of "Qaqawiñay", which during the dry season are filled or "irrigated" each 3 days with salt water that emanates from a natural source located at the top of the wells so that when the water evaporates, the salt contained in it gradually solidifies. The pools are owned by the locals.
